Cute Friday Reindeer … Moose? Bird?

I think it must have been Alaska that led me to pick this. I got off the plane last week and was met by stuffed animals decorating everything everywhere at the airport - fish, moose, deer, goats, polar bears - I kid you not. So weird!

Well, THIS is a MUCH MUCH cuter version of a stuffed animal head. Hey, I even LIKE this one! Can you see him looking at the bird nesting in his antlers? So cute! The “Christmoose Reindeer” is from Dawanda seller Knitting by Freda.

First today, a couple of halloos and thank yous!  Nature Autumn wrote to say hi - she made the great pair of Cinderella’s slipper earrings I featured in my June Cleaver indie outfit.  Hi Autumn!

On the Link Love side of things - my Index of Independent Designers was recently mentioned on the Charm City DIY site.  I also just figured out (although I think this was a while ago - duh!) I’m listed on Miss Hawklet’s link page as well.  I should pay attention better :)  I know it’s silly, but it’s awfully nice when someone links to you.  Speaking of which, I really have to do some link updating soon.

I love looking around for cute stuff on Fridays - it’s the end of my work week and this stuff often makes my day.  I hope you enjoy it too.  So this Friday I’ve found something a little different from Dawanda, the great German indie marketplace.  These are hand-drawn patterns that work with embroidery machines.  Have I mentioned I want an embroidery machine? It’s totally a ridiculously spendy thing and a luxury, but … that doesn’t stop me from wanting one!

Anyway, these designs are from Emi Oli and are so lovely and cute!  I had a really tough time deciding which ones to show, because her designs are really great (check out the Dutch one, with the girl and cow!), but I particularly love ninjas and matroshka dolls, so they won the tossup.  Next time you see an embroidery pattern on something, just think how clever it could truly be!  Should I get an embroidery machine, I know exactly where I’m coming!

Updated the Index of Indie … more cool stuff! And because ’tis the season, or nearly there anyway, I’ve also added a section for people who have put up Holiday Gift Guides.  All helpful for that Handmade Pledge we took :)

I just added someone to my Twitter list who provides a daily recipe … the feat of providing a recipe in 140 characters or less…  well, I’ve just got to see it.  I wonder if they’re any good?

Today’s Ridiculously Cute is brought to you by … wait! one of them isn’t a softie or an amigurumi! Holy cow!

On the lefthand side we have a little elephant of tweed and twill ready to steal a fond place in your heart. This wonderfully accented piece is made by Tiny Warbler Designs of Vancouver.

On the right side we have something for mon frere, who has recently begun to read my blog. Hi J! This cute little shy panda is hiding among some flowers. The print is a 3-color, hand silkscreened open edition, signed by the artist (Strawberry Luna), on 90-lb. paper. See that “P is for Panda”? She’s working on the whole alphabet!
