Note to self …
I was innocently reading magazines at the bookstore today when I began to notice a theme appearing in the editorials. March is apparently a month of some note.
For example, readers of this blog might be interested that March is:
1) Women’s History Month
2) National Craft Month
3) National Crochet Month
OK, those all seem relatively normal, but March is also:
Foot Health Month, Humorists are Artists Month, National Furniture Refinishing Month, National Frozen Food Month, National Noodle Month and National Peanut Month. I could go on.
Not had enough yet? Yesterday, March 1 was:
Beer Day, Pig Day, Peanut Butter Lover’s Day and “Be Positive - Do Something” Day
And today happens to be:
Namesake Day, Old Stuff Day and Sherlock Holmes Day
I do believe I’ve found a blog theme for March. <laughs evilly>
Since today is namesake day (who comes up with this stuff?), I do in fact have a namesake; I was named after my mother’s sister. None of my family has ever gotten over us having the same name.
Give me some love!
Happy Valentine’s Day! It might be a made-up holiday, but can you really go wrong with a face like this? This is my best valentine, the most loving little creature ever.
Ooooh, pretty!!
So, I’m pretty flippin’ excited, and not just because it’s almost Valentine’s Day (I totally kid). Not just because someone sent me a package today that made me smile and get a bit teary at once (that’s true). Not just because I actually got everything done at work I meant to do for the first time in months (whoa, how did that happen?). But because my husband and I have redesigned this here website (oh, yes, we did).
We’ve been working on this for some time off and on. We’re both into design and web stuff, plus our styles aren’t exactly alike, so let me tell you, deciding on what to do was pretty difficult. In the beginning there may have been some irritation. Maybe. But in the end, we work well together and even enjoy it.
We spent quite a number of hours at shops drinking coffee, disagreeing, discussing, working things out, getting excited, and in some cases having Jeff tell me my ideas were completely and utterly impractical. Our original thoughts were really not bad, but what eventually came out of our discussion sessions is, I think, verrry nice. I’m quite pleased. I think my husband is bad ass.
[Update: if you use Internet Explorer #1) I'm sorry, you should really download Firefox or something. It actually renders the web appropriately and isn't in league with the Dark Uberlord and also, #2) this site is temporarily IE-borked. It's just a thing. Every development is like this. First you make sure it works for everything else, then you put in the special fixes Microsoft requires you to make.] [Update 2: IE has mostly been whipped into shape by my extra bad ass husband. If you see any weirdness, leave a comment.]
It’s got widgety bits and check down at the bottom of the page, too, that’s part of the awesomeness. I hope you like it too, because although I’ll probably stare at it a lot, you guys have to as well. I hope you like! (Hey RSS reader people, you should check it out too!
