Status Update: Flowered Lapghan
Ah, one of the freaking longest projects EVER … the flower afghan.
Goal: 40 squares, 20 with the flower design (9 red, 4 orange, 4 yellow, 4 purple) and 20 brown squares of my design.
Status: All the flowered squares are done! I have 11 brown squares done as well.
What’s Left: 9 brown squares, and of course putting it all together. I also plan to crochet a row of double crochet in between each square as well and around the whole thing.
So here’s the squares, and I also put a few together in the checkered pattern I’m planning on now that I have all the colors done. What do you think? Keep in mind the sun was really, really bright and the colors are brighter than they really are. I’m going for a checkerboard of autumn colors.

As usual, I’m convinced it’s going to be horrible. Typical.
Did I mention about the blanket that my grandparents made is now residing by the front door and being shown to everyone who shows up? My grandma told me about showing it to her card ladies last week.

feel free to leave a few words of your own...Val — Sun Oct 19, 2008 at 9:06 am (link)I LOVE your Daisy Granny squares! I recenlty taught myself to crochet and am in the process of making Daisy Granny squares for my daughter an afghan. I am writing to know if you would share the pattern for your brown squares. I like that so much more than the traditional granny pattern I had thought of using.
Thanks in advance!

I will do my best to write up the pattern – I’d intended to but now I certainly will
Glad you liked it.

Hard to believe, but I last talked about this afghan on March 26 of last year, as far as I can tell. I worked on it for a solid 2 months and got 40 granny squares [...]
Crafter by Night » Why it’s called “crafting”: Flower Afghan — Sat Mar 21, 2009 at 6:38 pm (link)[...] mine: part flower pattern I found, edited appropriately, part pattern I made up, a multi-colored checkerboard pattern I came up with and some brown and red borders. The end result is only a tiny bit talent – some [...]
