Japan has gotten me, too
If you read about craft books, one of the most common things you read about is Japan. The most clever, ridiculously cute, incredibly complicated stuff comes out of that country. I resisted and resisted the temptation, although I did do my little amigurumi bear (another type of Japanese craft). But then I found one with flower motifs, and I was totally sunk. I immediately bought it.
I only have the one Japanese book, but this book is also owned by Craft Lover, and she has a huge library of Japanese craft books if you’re interested in seeing more of them. You can also see pictures of her books on Flickr.
So this is the picture that got me:

I can’t read a bit of Japanese, of course. But the other thing that’s common about Japanese craft books is stupendous diagrams and pictures. This book is no exception. If you can manage to read or transcribe these diagrams, you can make these things. If, of course, you have the patience to crate such incredibly intricate, detailed designs.
